[Sep 11] - Fabrication of large 6.5" thick, 93,000 pound Pressure Vessel Shell
We recently formed a 6.5" thick, 93,000 pound pressure vessel shell in our Monster Rolls steel plate rolling machine. The shell measured 126" I.D. and 121.25" long.

Edmonton Exchanger is capable of rolling steel plate up to a 12" material thickness. Our five sets of plate rolls enable us to roll plate into shells, rolled rings, cones (both eccentric and concentric), and repads. These components can be fabricated from our own plate inventory or from customer supplied material.

[May 11] - Fabrication of Reactor and Regenerator Components
Edmonton Exchanger is currently completing a project for a client that involves the shop fabrication of reactor and regenerator components for installation at a refinery.

The regenerator consists of a segmented 2:1 semi-elliptical head which measures 35’-10” in diameter and weighs 69,000 pounds. The shell section of the regenerator also has a diameter of 35’-10”, and measures 16’-7” in height.  It weighs in at 86,000 pounds.

The reactor is made up of a 2:1 semi-elliptical head section which boasts a diameter of 22’-8”, and a weight of 37,100 pounds. The shell component of the reactor consists of three separate sections which combine for a total height of 43’–0”, and a weight of 80,800 pounds.

Dec 10] - Helping to brighten a child's future in 2010!

Edmonton Exchanger and our employees where proud to complete a toy drive to donate to 630 Ched Santa's Anonymous - a charity that provides toys for underprivileged children at Christmas.

We have delivered over $2,500 in gifts that were purchased by Edmonton Exchanger and our employees.

Jun 10] - Edmonton Exchanger suppor
ts fight against Prostate Cancer...

In our annual Short Cut to the Cure fundraiser, Edmonton Exchanger and our employees have raised close to $5,700 in support of the fight against prostate cancer.

Money was raised through employees obtaining pledges by volunteering to have their heads shaved. Edmonton Exchanger matched all employee contributions dollar for dollar.

May 10] - Edmonton Exchanger recipient of 2010 Health & Safety Leader Award...

On April 12, 2010, the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Council and Employment and Immigration recognized Edmonton Exchanger for our workplace health & safety performance.

The 2010 Health & Safety Leader Award was presented to Edmonton Exchanger President, Larry Gusse and VP Operations, John Evans by the OHS Council Chair, Tim Bennett and Minister of Employment and Immigration, Thomas Lukaszuk.

&Safety Leader Award recognizes Edmonton Exchanger for exemplary health and safety management practices, and proven injury and illness prevention records.

February 14, 2010 marks Edmonton Exchanger's 35th anniversary. We are proud of this milestone and thank all of our employees and business partners for their dedication and commitment in making this achievement possible.

Jan 10] - Edmonton Exchanger celebrates WinterFest 2010...

We recently celebrated WinterFest 2010, an Edmonton Exchanger sponsored employee family fun evening. Each year Edmonton Exchanger takes over a local ski hill exclusively for our employees and their families.

This years' event celebrated our 35th Anniversary and included activities such as skiing, snow boarding and tubing, as well as plenty of food, prizes and gifts for everyone.

Edmonton Exchanger thanks all employees and their families for a fantastic evening!

[Nov 09] - "Monster Rolls" now fully operational...
Edmonton Exchanger's "Monster Rolls", our newest and largest steel plate rolling machine, is now fully operational.

The machine is one of the largest of its kind, and features the largest steel plate rolling capabilities in North America. It gives Edmonton Exchanger the ability to cold roll steel plate up to 7” thick, and hot roll steel plate up to an incredible 12” thick. Due to the large operating capacity of this machine, it has been dubbed the “Monster Rolls” by Edmonton Exchanger employees.

We are currently in the final stages of construction of the 16,000 square foot addition to one of our existing shops at our Main Plant to accommodate this large machine.

[Jul 09] - Edmonton Exchanger supports the fight against Prostate Cancer...

Edmonton Exchanger recently held a drive to raise money for the fight against Prostate Cancer. The drive was concluded with many employees shaving their heads in support of the event.

Employee contributions topped $1,562 and Edmonton Exchanger matched this amount to give a final total of $3,124 towards the fight against prostate cancer!

- Large order of 8.1875" thick Pressure Vessel Shells

We are currently completing a manufacturing project for (18) identical pressure vessel shells measuring 8.1875" thick, 70.25" I.D. and 107" long. The shells will be used by one of our customers to fabricate (3) massive steam drums weighing over 200 tons each. 

The quality and workmanship of this type of product as produced by Edmonton Exchanger cannot be superseded!
